IKEA Customer Support Center" --- NOT I've been an Ikea customer for 30 years. Rarely have I used the online ordering. I doubt I will use it again. We ordered correct item (Marius Stool: 101.356.59). Ikea sent wrong item (Stoljan chairs: 102.278.90). We called Customer service (wait time >40 minutes). Wasn't corrected. Called a few days later (Wait time > 60 minutes). Still not remedied. No Marius stools delivered. No information on correcting error so chairs still here. Stools haven't arrived. Third call to customer service. Rep answered at 1 hour 05 minutes. He was supposed to check on something for me and I've been back in the cue for customer service for another 25 minutes. Total of 1.5 hours. He came back (Very polite, I must say. He wasn't the issue.) Cancelled order. The order shouldn't have been botched. BUT the greater issue is the customer service wait time. Waiting more than 10 minutes is never acceptable. Fix the issue Ikea. I doubt I'll be ordering online again.

Hire more trained people in customer service. It wasn't a one-time issue. It was over 1 1/2 weeks on different days of week and different times of day. Also, train your shipment teams first. The issue shouldn't have happened in the first place.

Don't buy in Miami until you check the prices in Broward. Bought office chairs a@ $39.99 in Miami and Broward had the same chair for $24.99. One store will not honor the other store prices. That's crazy!

Ikea in Brooklyn, New York - 1 out of 2 boxes didn't arrive. 1 month later still no refund!

We placed an order for a children's desk and chair. 5 days later the chair shows up. I called IKEA and they told me looks like the desk was misplaced and they will issue a refund. This all happened end of July. By August I haven't seen the refund as promised. they assured me it's in the "pipeline" and should see the refund in just a few days. To make a long story short, it's September 4th and still no refund. I'm on hold for 32 minutes now waiting for a rep to (pretend they know and) give me insight as to where that refund got stuck. Bunch of deadbeats selling garbage furniture.

Ikea in Newark, New Jersey - Ludicrous policy

I got a triple wardrobe wall unit delivered. It came in multiple pieces which were clearly difficult for two large men to carry into my bedroom. I could not open the boxes and take out the pieces without help. I saw that the corner of one box was crushed and the items inside were damaged. Not wantint to get the delivery men in trouble or go through the bother of getting a new piece, I glued the damanaged corner. A week later when I finally got to the last piece, which was the mirror door I saw that it was cracked. I called IKEA. They told me I would be contaced in 72 hours. I was not. When I called I was told that their policy was that I could not get a new item delivered since it was after 48 hours. Was I expected to open all 20 boxes and pull out each piece to examine them within 48 hours? Why is the policy for a small item like a chair and a huge wall unit the same? It seems logical that for large items such as that it will take longer to examine, especially due to the size and weight. The next time, (not that I'll ever purchase from IKEA again) I will not let the delivery men leave until I examine each piece. I paid $140 for them to take the pieces off the shelf and deliver them and now even though they dropped the box I have to go through the trouble of bringing something I can't even lift back to the store to get an exchange. This policy makes no sense. You can't have a hard and fast policy for all situations. The woman on the phone was like talking to a machine. I couldn't get any acccomodation or flexibility. I will never shop there again! I do not call that customer service.

Ikea in Churchtown, England - Ignored report of catastrophic failure of chair component

One of our Ikea poang armchairs collapsed due to sudden shearing of important bolt, resulting in occpant being thrown backwards out of the chair and the frame fracturing, We took the chair and bolt to Ikea Warrington and were astounded by the lack of interest and concern as the chair is over 10 years old and we did not have a receipt. These chairs are dangerous and IKEA are not interested and have "exhausted their conversation with us". At the very least customers should be advised of potential problems . The matching chair is going to the tip! IKEA customer care - nul points

Ikea Customer Service is the Worst

We bought an Ektorp sofa (the l-shaped one) and lounge chair. The first time we tried to wash the slip covers the zippers broke and since we had misplaced the receipt Ikea refused to exchange them for us. Then the next time we tried to wash the slip covers one of the cushions disintegrated. We were shocked. My husband called customer service and after lots of waiting was tranfered to the closest store about 3 hrs away. He was told they could do an exchange for the cushion but they couldn't check whether the sofa was in stock. Even though they were standing right there on the floor in the middle of the store next to a computer terminal they couldn't check for us and we would just have to try our luck. I called customer service and had to SCREAM in order to speak with a manger (I mean I literally screamed). Then the manager said it wasn't possible to speak with the local store directly until I insisted for the 10th time that my husband had been transfered. So then she spoke with the store and found that there were 3 sofas in stock so they could exchange the cusion. I said well I can't get there until the end of the month can you deliver it please, I will even pay for the delivery. They said oh no we can't do it by delivery because they don't know if I am lying or not about my cushion. I said are you kidding? They said we would have to open a file and have you send us photos of the cushion etc etc. So now I am just hoping on the day I drive to Ikea that they have the sofa cushion in stock and some one agrees to exchange it for me as they manager said they would (if I wasn't lying about the cushion, of course). Ikea makes cheap products (all my Ikea dishes have chipped--a friend looked at ne and said Ikea? and I said yes.) and the customer service is terrible. I will never shop at Ikea again.
