I spent over $7,000 on an IKEA kitchen. The order failed to include cabinets I ordered, included several cabinets I did not order, and included cabinet doors and drawer fronts that were oak when I ordered white. I had to make five (5) additional trips to the store to...

Ikea Doesn't Back its Products

Bought furniture from Ikea. Had it delivered to my son's apt, a six-floor walkup. Five months later, the bed fell apart. Ikea won't cover it longer than 90 days from purchase; I must have a receipt; and it has to be brought in to be "looked" at. So, I would have to disassemble it, carry it down the six flights of stairs I paid to have them bring it up, and drive it to another state. They won't stand behind it, because its more than ninety days. Maybe they know it won't last too long.

Ikea & Restaurant is Rubbish

We went with our family card to the Ikea restaurant near Birmingham on the M6 for breakfast last week prior to shopping. My son had one item less on his plate than the "approved" number - my wife had one item more. The irate and totally thick cashier took the plates and stormed off with them humiliating us whilst she scraped the offending item off my wife's plate in front of a *** of people. When we complained to the restaurant manager he accused us of being wrong not the member of staff. Needless to say no further returns to Ikea for food or shopping for us. They are ***.

IKEA WEB ordering miss leading

I live in Vancouver and went to the Richmond store for a wardrobe. Spoke to sales people who asked that I configure the wardrobe on their computer which I did and was told that I could do the ordering on line at home on my computer, which I did on the IKEA Canada site, when sales person disappeared. The in-store info included delivery and installation for $140.00. The order on line included $199.00 delivery and apparently no installation. Because I was on holidays for 2 weeks, the delivery date had to be changed and I spoke with a representative and was told the installation was not included and the delivery charge was $199.00 from CALIFORNIA, without installation. I canceled the order and was told I would still be charged $150.00 for shipping from California to Vancouver. After discussion with a supervisor the shipping charge was reduced to $100.00. Be aware that web orders do not come from local stores and the details of delivery and installation in the local stores are not part of web ordering.

I purchased a beautiful little oven that keeps breaking down since I got it. Yes, endless hours trying to get service.

Finally IKEA confirmed they have a 5 year warranty policy....but, who wants to keep buying these pieces of s....someone told me there is a california law, that after 3 times you should be getting a new one. Mine just broke down again, for the 5th.

time. Don't know if I have the energy to keep fighting...

don't buy IKEA appliances...very cute but bad

Angela, Please be specific. Which oven did you buy, and what happened to it?

Can you all be specific about which appliances, and what happened to them? It's very difficult to find consumer info on IKEA that is not generated by IKEA.

This is one of the only that I have found.

I'd like to see more. Thanks.

I absolutely agree with the previous poster. I have an oven less than 6 months old.

Doesn't work....going on 2 weeks and keep getting the run around from both IKEA and whirlpool.

At least the people at IKEA are nice about not helping you...the people at Whirlpool are the worst. :(

IKEA!! GIVE ME MY MONEY BACK!!

I made this purchase on September 1st, 2010; however I refused on the next day over the phone. It has been almost 4 months and there money is not entirely refunded to my card. I called the IKEA at Brooklyn location for literally more than 50 times during the past four months. Every time I got the answer was either they would call me in a few business days, but in fact they had never called, or their manager was not in the store due to all kinds of reasons which were seemed ridiculous to me. I have spoken to most of the customer service staffs, and all of them failed to return my money. By now the IKEA at Brooklyn still owns me $1,258.51, and I am about to leave the U.S.. Therefore, I am anxious to get my money back! If I were aware of that a Top 100 Corp is so disappointing in the After Sell Service, I would never have chosen the IKEA or recommended to others.

Ikea doing bad faith business

i bought over $1000 of closets including $49 for delivery & $150 for assembly. Upon arrival, assembler's asked for another $150 because customer service had made a mistake plus $75.0 to screw closet to the wall. After i refused, Ikea agreed to take back & charge me $49 to return. Had they told me the total price correctly in the store , i would not have bought the product. What they did was intentional. Ikea's staff have become day light robbers. waisted hours of my time with much frustration, i will try not to shop at Ikea any more.its better to pay a bit more and get some respect.

I bought the new BIRKELAND QUEEN BED FRAME in IKEA and I HATE IT. I AM DISAPPOINTED with this purchase I get purple spots on my legs almost everyday thanks to the corner legs frame.

Ikea queen size bed is bigger than regular queen size bed. The quality is very poor. It was a waste of time and money.

PLEASE DO NOT BUY FURNITURES IN IKEA, DO NOT MAKE THE SAME MISTAKE I DID. the custumer service is really bad.

I bought a memory foam mattress and a platform bed from IKEA when I entered grad school. I immediately noticed the horrible, chemically smell… and figured it would go away.

It didn't. It actually permeated my entire bedroom and even caused my CLEAN clothes in the closet to smell of the same strange plastic, chemical sickeningly sweet odor. I would go home for the weekend and my mother would actually tell me (unprompted) "You smell funny!"… "and so do your clothes". I'm an overly clean person (for these other idiots posting ignorant remarks), but had to deal with it while I was at school for 2 years.

It never went away. Ever. When I moved, I left the bed there… never to look back. And now… even though they've been in a storage unit for a whole year..

my boxed items STILL emit this smell when I periodically unpack things. Super scary stuff.

Ikea in Brecksville, Ohio - $349 to deliver $60 bookshelf?

I wanted to order a bookcase from IKEA. The bookcase retails for $59.99. The delivery cost to my home (two and a half hours from the closest IKEA store) is $349. Huh???? I could ship this item to Shanghai for less. I called IKEA and was told that even though the website said $349 on orders over 70 lbs and $200. When I pointed out to the customer service rep that this bookcase costs $60 and weighs 45 pounds, she said "it's coming up at $349 delivery. If you want it that's how much it costs." Needless to say, I don't.
