Ikea in Dublin, Dublin - 2 left slippers THEY DONT WANT TO KNOW

Bought 2 pairs of slippers on Thursday 27/5/2011 onreturning home I discovered they were 2 left ones in one pack. Spent over 260 euro that day. I have sent email phoned 3 times spoke with Hayley Charlotte and Aisling and still they dont want to know 1 week later. Offered to repace them if I call in. The cost of crossing toll bridge going to and from doesnt seem illogical to them. I signed for family card that day dont think I will be needing it. If this is the service they provide I can go somewhere else

I get that when you go to Ikea, you get what you pay for. But, me and my son (a 17 year old) went to get a new bed for him, and seeing as the bed he has had since he was three was from there and has held out well, we hoped he would be able to get a sturdy, well made...

Okay, I am an Ikea Employee in New York, and what you are describing sounds like an interaction I had with a mom and a teen in Jan.-Feb. 2011. I can't say that that was you, but if it was (it sounds like it), I don't think you are correctly representing what went on.

The mom and heavily overweight son came in and was looking around in the kids bed section (where I was working). They asked about a bed frame that was a children's frame (obviously marked as such), which I politely told you was a kid's frame, and that her son was probably too big for it. No, I didn't bring in her son's weight to the conversation, just the fact that he was older then the suggested age limit.

I did suggest that she look at the Hopen bed frame, and pointed her to it, as it is (from my experience, I actually have one at home!) a solid bed frame that a lot of customers like.

I'm sorry if it broke, things happon, but honestly this post seems like you are whining about nothing.

The Worst Customer Sevice from Ikea

I purchased a book case ( they could not get that right.wrong color) and asked for it to be delivered. First error, my phone number was written wrong so I have to go through different channel to get the number corrected for delivery. The next error was when they delivered the item it was the wrong color..LOL... Now to get that exchanged done; a person could of went around the world and they still would of messed up. They gave me different times and the Manager was adamant that she has highly trained staff, which in all du respect she needs to get trained her self in giving the correct information. they told me the deliver was to be done from 9am -1pm. I received a call at 12:50pm sating that the delivery was be done in 2hrs because they forgot to put the item on the truck ( Now I know a Uni degree is not needed for delivery..Lol) and I am still waiting for the delivery...Now with my luck the item could end up being delivered in Timbuktu ( India) . Ikea, you need to get your customer service shaped up and clean house.; it is disgusting that your customer service forgot the first rule of service common sense "treat people how you would like to be treated" I am certain if they go shopping at other stores they would not like to have shabby service especially if you are a paying customers.

Ikea in London, England - Bad products!

Going to Ikea is a horrible experience. It's busy, overcrowded and filled with overpriced products that fall apart. My two experiences with Ikea have been abysmal. A bought a sofa which decided to fall apart within the first few months of use. Next time I went I purchased a mirror for my daughter that was impossible to put together let alone read the poorly written instructions. The prices of the products initially seem ok, but once you purchase you will realise just how bad the quality of the items are. I have been disappointed with their stores, customer service and products and I will not be visiting Ikea again any time soon.

Ikea is run by idiots these days. 30 years ago it was great.

Now the inmates have taken over. REALLY BAD STUFF.

actually the mirror came in three parts and was very complicated, so yes it did need instructions.

How hard is it to mount a mirror. I never heard of mirrors with instructions.

Did you mean a mirror door? ***!

IKEA has very poor customer service

IKEA has the worst customer service I have ever experinced. I had a problem with one of my dresser parts and wanted a replacement. I waited a week for it to arrive, DAMAGED. I called again and to have another part shipped. I called a couple times to check on the status and was told multiple times that the part shipped only to find out later that it didn't. I have had parts of a dresser laying around my house for 2 weeks and stil do not have what I need to assemble it. When I called for the 4th time, the only response I recieved was that I'm sorry someone gave you incorrect information. No effort to actually solve my problem. The phone number also routes you to a call center and you can't speak to anyone at the actual store.

Yes, agree... worst custmer service in the world!

I put together a small computer stand and followed the instructions exactly. I ended up with a piece of unfinished wood facing out because they had the color wrong in the manuel. In order to return it, I would have to take it apart (took me 2 hours to assemble!). pieces don't even come apart.

THEN, I had already ordered a desk that they charged me 50 bucks to ship. the table top is dented everywhere. they won't refund the delivery fee (hello, i'm paying 50 bucks to have this *** delivered to me to take it apart and return it?!). and THEN I found out they want me to pay MORE to return it!

They are criminal.. an absolute joke.

I agree with you it is the worst customer service, but you also have Donata @ the Etobicoke store raving about her highly trained staff who cannot even get a delivery time correct. I am sure trained dogs can perform better without her at the helm. :(

Ikea poor customer service

on the 12Th of may 2011 I went to Ikea, after picking up all my shopping went to cashier to pay , I found that the young lady was rude and aggressive to the customer as she did not help in any way with the scanner in one hand and the other hand in her pocket telling me to hurry up to move the boxes that she can scan them and also telling me that if Am waiting for her to pick them up I can wait for a very long time as a disable person I could not believe the service I was receiving from Ikea so I decided to live my shopping and call the manager that said that he will investigate the case without receiving any apology I left the store

IKEA NUMERÄR Sink Bowl Installation Nightmare

My wife insisted we buy this sink for use in our garage MUD room. It is a NUMERÄR model. The size was good, wide and deep but installation was a nightmare. First there are no pre-drilled holes for the faucet. While a no holes option gives the user more latitude in faucet placement. Most of us do not have the tools to cut holes in stainless steel. They do sell a CHEAP metal hole cutter BUT the hole was too small for most faucets sold in the USA. The hole cutter is about 1 1/8" dia. Most faucet risers , especially if you have amixing valve, single faucet type is 1 1/4" diameter. When I discovered the mistake, it was too late to re-drill the hole. A hand file was required to enlarge the hole and a lot of elbow grease. The installation instructions were totally inadequate and misleading. Wooden support for the faucet was also not available without a lot of work. Save yourself some headaches and trouble. If you must buy this sink, get it installed by the store. Better yet, find another brand.

Sounds more like installer inexperience than anything wrong with the sink itself.

IKEA delivery

IKEA scheduled a delivery but made no call to give me time frame. When I called at 9 a.m., I was told to call at 10. When I called at 10, I was told to call the delivery company, which said they had no record of the delivery schedule. I called IKEA again, 1 hours on hold while they tracked down my table. Urban Express, the company that delivers for IKEA, is terrible, cost me a day's work (I'm an hourly worker!) and had no interest in helping at all. Didn't care, didn't try to help. IKEA tried to help but had no power.

I waited 15 days for my delivery before calling the after sales department. It turns out my item was out of stock when I was told it was in stock...

ASD said they would reset my delivery and I would now have to wait an additional 15 to 16 days.

IKEA has lost this customer!

My building returned a delivery because it was outside of regular hours. When I called to reschedule by paying another $70, I was told that I will need to pay another $50 to have delivery done within the apartment building's delivery hours. I love Ikea merchandise but fear the company will loose loyal customers if it starts to charge them at every given excuse.

same here. promis of 2-10 delivery.

when I called at 12 - I was told in 45 mins. - although she was uanble to talk to the driver.

Ordered from Ikea, missing hardware, impossible customer service

I ordered (on-line) a dresser from IKEA and found some of the hardware was missing. I tried numerous times to reach customer service by phone. I got disconnected, transferred then disconnected, told it was the wrong department, hung up on, and found options where there was no way to get customer service. Even the option on their website (Home shopping) didn't exist. I am still waiting for an e-mail reply. The dresser isn't usable without hardware. Their customer service is one of the most frustrating I have ever encountered. I will not do business with them again. I advise you don't either.
