IKEA

I recently purchased a MALM bed & Hopen dresser and It was damaged shortly after removing it from the box. The Bed and Dresser is hard to assemble.I decided I no longer want the furniture and want a full refund but the manger told me I would have to come up there so he can see it to see if I can get a refund. I will be pissed if I have to pay a delivery driver to IKEA (College park) 15 miles away from my home get to the store and he cant return the items which was damaged

Ikea sucks and is not reliable

People kept saying "order your furniture from IKEA, they're really great". Well, those people are wrong. Ordering furniture from IKEA is actually one of the most frustrating experiences I have gone through. See, I just got an apartment in New York City and I wanted my room to be done before my roommates moved in. So I went to IKEA, looked around, and ordered it online when I went home. I needed someone to assemble it so when they called to confirm my delivery date, I asked for assembly. I was scheduled for delivery and assembly on the same day, which was exactly what I wanted. Oh did I receive a surprise on the day of the supposed delivery. NO ONE showed up. Little did I know, the delivery people (Urban Express) do not work as a team. All the dates and times got confused so when I called, I got different answers from everyone. Finally, after speaking to the manager, a second date for my furniture was arranged. BUT surprise surprise, no one showed up again. After spending so much money on their furniture, on delivery, and assembly, I did not even get my furniture yet. So as frustrated as ever, I called again and it seems as if the people who work there do not communicate with each other at all because otherwise, this would not have happened. BOTTOM LINE: DO NOT ORDER FROM IKEA OR EXPECT DELIVERY ON TIME FROM URBAN EXPRESS. They might seem like a trustworthy company, but they are not responsible or efficient in any way.

I've just had a terrible experience buying a bed from them. I arranged with the girl at Services for it to be delivered and assembled and my old bed disposed of.

When the delivery men turned up with it today they refused to take my old bed because 'it wasn't on their paperwork', they only take the mattress not the frame anyway and apparently the mattress has to be wrapped in plastic. Also the main delivery guy said he doesn't assemble beds, whatever the girl at Services told me. I don't know if he was fibbing or if the girl at Services was clueless - either way I will not be buying from them again. I phoned customer services to cancel my purchase and was told I'd get a full refund.

We'll see. In the mean time the new bed is blocking my hallway until the delivery man, who isn't answering his phone, can be persuaded to collect it next week.

Ikea has no customer service

I have purchased a lamp minut brand at ikea in palo alto last year.i have been trying to get a replacement glass globe for it.The minut brand is untraceable on line.there also is no place to order replacement parts either in the store or on line.They are still selling this lamp with anew expanded line along the same brand,minut.we went to the store today and found out that not only do they not carry spare parts,but they have no idea how to get them.we decided to contact customer service at the store but guess what? There is NO customer service!ARE YOU KIDDING???

Same thing just happened to me last night. My mirror fell from the wall.

The mirror is very heavy and the frame eventually gave way from the wire and screw that are holding it up on the wall.

This is a hazard for any of you that have toddlers running around. Ikea should seriously discontinue this item.

Poor assembly job and glue and materials are very cheap.

Ikea has horrible customer service!

"First time buyer of Ikea furniture for my daughter's room. Glass Hemnes bookshelves had missing wood pieces. Spent 2+ weeks on the phone with customer service trying to get the parts. Was lied to several times that items were to arrive by the end of next business day for them never to arrive. Bookshelf was half put together and sitting in upstairs hallway for over 2 weeks due to the inefficent customer service. Not one person that I spoke to over the 2+ weeks was honest about the situation. Actually, I still haven't received the parts! Will not spend another dime at Ikea!"

Ikea in Washington, District Of Columbia - Disrespect

i am undecided about IKEA i was shopping and i was enjoying it, until i noticed one of the managers/workers being very rude and disrespectful to there workers, I'm sorry but I'm a business woman and when someone is miss treating they''re workers its just reflects on their store, and it was very rude and very unprofessional, if your going to do your dirty work (which you shouldn't in the first place) do it behind closed door..oh and IKEA....START TREATING PEOPLE WITH SOME *** RESPECT, and stop taking everything so serious your pathetic and unfair.

IKEA is great value and always helpful

I have been buying furniture and food from Ikea for over 20 years in different cities in the U.S. as well as abroad. I have nothing but good things to say about it. I have never had a problem with any furniture I have purchased there. It is good quality at a reasonable price. Starting on your first house and need to furnish it? I would recommend Ikea. It is also good for furniture for schools too. I do not work for Ikea or get any benefit from this. However, I believe pissed consumer is the most unreliable source of information on any company as there is absolutely no verification of anything.

here we go , spent over £750.00 @ ikea , got stuff delivered , no problems there , built two sets of three sets of drawers , so well practiced , started the third set , put a dowel right through the side , hole too deep , as a tradesman i know how to tap a dowel into place , so i called ikea , when customer services deemed it fit to answer i was told basically tough , i offered to buy a part , and was directed to the junk area , the person on the end of the phone was at least understanding , but no part , i got a stock answer telling me that if i had an ikea family card the parts would have been replaced for free , so if they can split a pack for a card holder for free , why will they not split one for someone who will pay , the rest of the bedroom stuff turned into an equal night mare , last time i use them

Just bought about $1,000 worth of furniture. TV stand was the first to be assembled.

The directions are very poor and only visual. Fasteners are pure and complete Chinese junk. The fastening devices are made of such poor quality that the parts disintegrate as you attempt to tighten. I too have over an hour drive to take this junk back.

Decided to cut my losses and not buy any more of this product. Period.

Incompetent and indolent employees at the Ikea shop in Greece

I booked a session with the kitchen design people in the Ikea shop in Athens. Alas, I was quite dejected by their ineptitude and their reluctant endeavors to accommodate us. It took them more than 2 hours to design a kitchen for my sister's maisonette. The Ikea assistant was only slightly acquainted with the particulars of 3d-design. The end result was also unacceptable- a dysfunctional kitchen island and 'floating in space' pieces. My kitchen was designed fairly quickly by another assistant but they failed to issue me with a detailed document listing prices per piece, etc. I really relish all popular Scandinavian and Nordic style furnishings offered at such reasonable prices by Ikea; however I dare say that sloppy customer service can ruin all things beautiful and modern.
